Make floor time easy to start and easy to end.

Start with the real routine

Keep a safe mat or blanket for supervised use, a few age-appropriate items, and a clear surrounding area. Remove small objects and check the floor from a low angle.

Keep the system safe and simple

Use short, frequent sessions if that fits the baby better than long planned activities. Interaction matters more than elaborate setups.

Make it easy to reset

End with a quick reset and note anything that needs cleaning. The next session should not require rebuilding the whole space.
